Tampa-Bay's Renowned Private Country Club

On your next Tampa golf vacation, you can experience one of Tampa's most exclusive private clubs thanks to a new "member for the day" partnership between Cheval Golf Club and Tee Times USA.

Designed by Steve Smyers, this beautifully mature and meticulously maintained course meanders through Cheval Development's gated community where cypress trees abound along with native Florida wildlife including deer, alligators, otters, eagles, wading birds and more. Large elevated tees provide for optimum conditions and large landing areas around the well-bunkered elevated hand-mowed greens provide a picturesque setting unequaled in Greater Tampa Bay.

Not the typical Florida course, Cheval has elevation changes, drains well and has water in play on 17 of 18 holes. It features just over 100 scenic, strategically placed sand traps, in addition to wall-to-wall irrigation.

Cheval underwent an extensive renovation in 2008, including new Champion Bermuda greens and completely renovated bunkers. A brand new club house is scheduled to open by the end of 2010.

Through the exclusive arrangement with Tee Times USA, golfers can book tee times at Cheval or all-inclusive golf packages at Cheval that include golf, lodging and a rental car if needed. All packages can be customized to meet the unique needs of the traveling golfer.

Four sets of tees provide a challenge to golfers of all ability levels on this par 72 layout featuring 5 par threes and 5 par fives. The golf course can play as short as 5781 yards to an incredibly long 7021 yards. The two sets of tees in between measure 6147 yards and 6508 yards respectively.

Cheval is located in a gorgeous cypress forest, much of which is set aside as conservation areas for wildlife. The lovely setting defines the golf course and sets the stage for an enjoyable day of golf. As one drives along Cheval Boulevard and past signature holes, no. 8 and no. 9, one catches a glimpse of the quintessential experience: challenging, yet pleasing day of golf. Cheval has been rated "Best Bang For Your Buck" by Golf Magazine.
